This has been a tough year for those of us who follow politics. We had unprecedented attacks on gender-affirming care, anti-LGBTQ+ book banning abounded, anti-trans bathroom bans made an unfortunate resurgence, transvestigations took over the conservative side of social media, and then, of course, there was the election. Republicans may have seemed like they had a banger year, but they also spent all of 2024 acting a fool and showing the world that they are all giant hypocrites masquerading as populist heroes.
Gay MAGA supporters learned the hard way that their party doesn’t care about them, Trump humiliated himself countless times by saying and doing the WILDEST things (remember when he pretended to work at McDonalds or when he wouldn’t stop praising Arnold Palmer’s penis size?), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had a sad day when no one showed up to her book signing, Vice President-elect JD Vance just kept getting weirder the more we found out about him, Rep. Lauren Boebert groped her date inside a full theater, and disgraced former Mayor Rudy Giuliani effed around and found out the hard way. Republicans did the most in 2024!
The General Election was a kick in the teeth for all of us and it would be easy to panic or get discouraged, but it’s worth staying in the fight because these right-wing MAGA-supporting politicians are pathetic hypocrites who do the DUMBEST things all the time, which means that they’ll give us countless opportunities over the course of the next year to hold them accountable and maybe even change the minds of their supporters.
