Steamy lesbian sex scenes conveniently found on Hulu

Lesbian sex scenes on hulu: Disobedience, Poor Things, Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Oh hey there Hulu!

If there is one thing we have deep and abiding appreciation for, it's a good old steamy sapphic sex scene. The only thing better is if said scene is readily accessible at our greedy little fingertips. What did we even do before streaming was a thing?

While we've previously thumbed our way through the catalog of Netflix, we thought it was high time we gave Hulu the same treatment. Good news, there is no shortage of steamy lesbian moments to enjoy there as well!

So next time you’re in the mood to enjoy a spicy scene (and, fine, the movie around it too) grab your remote and get to streaming these queer films…

Benedetta

Looking for lesbian sex with a side of blasphemy, then this modern nunsploitation film is the answer to your prayers. From director Paul Verhoeven, Benedetta follows the true story of a 17th-century nun whose lesbian romance and religious visions rattled the church.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

If there is one thing lesbians in period films are going to do it's yearn and this film may be the yearniest one yet. In the film, a young woman is secretly hired to paint another’s portrait before her wedding day, which means a lot of observing and yes, yearning. You can guess what happens next.

Desert Hearts

Set in the 1950s Desert Hearts follows a young woman who heads to Reno, Nevada to get a divorce where he meets a younger woman, and the two strike up a passionate affair. This film from 1986 remains a sapphic classic for many reasons, one of which is that it's just as steamy today as it was when it was first released nearly 40 years ago.

Love Lies Bleeding

Hello modern erotic queer film classic! This is the movie that is still going to drive baby Sapphics wild for 40 years, thanks to the incredible performances and chemistry between its leads Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian. The film follows two Sapphic lovers who get entangled with the local crime lord after a shocking (if understandable) act of violence.

Disobedience

This movie will you want to do bad, bad things — and that’s good. In it, Ronit (Rachel Weisz) has to return home to her Orthodox Jewish home following the death of her father. While she is there she reconnects with her childhood friend (Rachel McAdams) and the two reignite a passionate affair. This movie is spit-in-my-mouth hot. IYKYK.

The L Word

This iconic Sapphic series centers around a group of lesbian friends living in LA. Is it perfect? No, but it is basically the root gay moment for a generation of Sapphics. As for the sex scene, they are too plentiful to count (except that we actually did). You can just throw on pretty much any episode you're bound to see something hot.

The Real L Word

After the success of The L Word, this reality series introduced audiences to a group of real lesbians living in Los Angeles. Like its fictional progenitor, this series was rife with dyke drama and steamy sex scenes. Strap ons? Yes. Scissoring? You know it. Is it too late to renew it for another season?

Anaïs in Love

Looking for a Sapphic film that is both steamy and not so serious? Well, Anaïs in Love is the one. In it Anaïs finds herself swept up in an affair with a publisher only to find herself even more drawn to his wife.

Blue Jean

Less fun, but still steamy, is Blue Jean which sees a closeted gym teacher hiding her queerness and living a double life following the passage of a law that stigmatizes gays and lesbians. Come for the hot scenes with Jean’s butch paramour, and stay for the gay history lesson.

Poor Things

The Frankenstein story has never been sexier or more textually queer than this entry from Yorgos Lanthimos which sees Emma Stone as the reanimated subject. But rather than lumber around running from fire and screaming mobs, she seeks out equality and sexual liberation. Mary Shelley would be so proud.
