Pedro Pascal has been on a global press tour for the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which premieres on Friday, July 25, in theaters around the world. In an interview with Fotogramas, the actor and his MCU costars are asked about their first celebrity crushes, and Pascal brought up some very relatable answers. Spoiler alert: They're all notable queer icons.
Pascal goes down a pretty legendary list of early celebrity crushes that includes Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, Marlon Brando, Olivia Newton-John, and Michelle Pfeiffer. Given that every single one of these crushes is also a queer icon, it's not surprising that the gays are feeling seen. Overall, Pascal is no stranger to embracing queer culture; in the past year, he's continued to be an outspoken ally of trans people like his sister, Lux Pascal, and also rocked a rainbow disco stick while dancing at a Cannes party.

When referencing Newton-John as an early celebrity crush, Pascal's co-star and on-screen wife Vanessa Kirby not only agreed but also specifically referenced Newton-John wearing her iconic "tight catsuit" in Grease. That subsequently led Pascal to bring up Pfeiffer as Catwoman [in 1992's Batman Returns].
Pascal also qualified that his crush on Ford was through The Last Crusade, but then corrected himself: "All the way to now." The list ended with Brando, and Pascal commenting that "Marlon Brando appears on screen in A Streetcar Named Desire, and you can't even stay seated."
Pascal has had a busy year, and his turn as Marvel's live-action Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, is just another feather in his cap. He stars in the movie alongside Kirby, who plays Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman; The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bacharach plays Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing; and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm a.k.a. Human Torch. In addition to the MCU film, audiences saw Pascal in the second season of The Last of Us and Celine Song's A24 rom-com The Materialists alongside Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans.
After Pascal is done with press for The Fantastic Four, he'll pick up the press cycle for Ari Aster's Eddington — a total of four major projects that the actor has been attached to in just one year.
